2026 Asia-Pacific Youth Model UN (Hong Kong & Macau) Now Open for Registration

Hong Kong Science Popularization and Science Fiction Academy (HKSPSF) is proud to serve as a promotion partner for the 2026 Asia-Pacific Youth Model UN (Hong Kong & Macau). Hosted by Beijing Foreign Studies University and co-hosted by PolyU and M.U.S.T., the conference runs 27–30 July 2026 and is now open to students aged 10–18.

Event Overview

Hong Kong Science Popularization and Science Fiction Academy (HKSPSF) is honoured to serve as a promotion partner for the 2026 Asia-Pacific Youth Model United Nations (Hong Kong & Macau Regional Session). We warmly invite young people interested in international affairs, public speaking, and diplomacy to apply.

The conference is hosted by Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU), organised by the Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press, and co-hosted by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) and Macau University of Science and Technology (M.U.S.T.). Recruitment for Hong Kong, Macao, and overseas students is handled by the Future Education Centre. The event will take place from 27 to 30 July 2026 at PolyU and M.U.S.T., conducted in English and Mandarin, and is open to students aged 10 to 18.

  • 200+ student delegates: Exchange with young people from mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Southeast Asia
  • 6 MUN committees: Covering international security, sustainable development, human rights, and digital technology
  • Top 30% advance to the Beijing Conference: Outstanding delegates may be invited to the flagship world conference at BFSU in late November 2026 (approx. 600 participants)
  • Official BFSU certificate: All students who complete the conference receive a participation certificate from Beijing Foreign Studies University
  • Committee awards: Best Delegate and Best Position Paper awards for each committee

The conference features six committees in two languages, debating major global issues under authentic UN rules of procedure:

  • UN General Assembly Second Committee (Mandarin): Governance of Deep-Sea Mineral Resources and the Protection of Marine Ecosystems (S.1–6 / YR 7–12)
  • UN General Assembly (English): Advancing Reform of the UN Security Council (S.1–6 / YR 7–12)
  • International Labour Organization (English): Artificial Intelligence and Employment in the Digital Economy (S.1–6 / YR 7–12)
  • UN-Habitat (Mandarin): Urban Sustainability and Future Community Development (P.4–6 / YR 4–6)
  • UNICEF (English): Building a Digital World Where Children are Safe (P.4–6 / YR 4–6)
  • UN Human Rights Council (English): Protecting Civilians' Rights in Armed Conflict (P.4–6 / YR 4–6)

Students will take on the role of diplomats, conducting research, debating, lobbying, and drafting resolutions under real UN procedures — developing public speaking, critical thinking, research writing, and negotiation skills.

  • 27 July (Mon): Opening ceremony at M.U.S.T., APYMUN Session I and II
  • 28 July (Tue): APYMUN Session III and exchange activities at M.U.S.T.
  • 29 July (Wed): APYMUN Session IV and V at PolyU, Hong Kong
  • 30 July (Thu): Closing ceremony at PolyU, Hong Kong

The four-day itinerary spans Hong Kong and Macau, giving students an international conference experience while exploring the academic and cultural environment of the Greater Bay Area.

Individual registration (Hong Kong, Macau, and overseas students)

  • Fee: HKD 3,480
  • Includes: Four-day conference fee, BFSU official certificate, six meals

Optional add-on service (Hong Kong students only)

  • Additional fee: HKD 2,600
  • Includes: Two nights' accommodation in Macau, round-trip ferry tickets, local transport, and chaperoned care
