The 2025 Underwater Unmanned Systems Challenge (Hong Kong Selection) was successfully held at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University on 7 July 2025, hosted by HKSPSF and organised by the Yau Tsim Mong Charity Foundation. Funded by the Innovation and Technology Commission, the competition was themed "Community of Shared Maritime Destiny — Ecological Monitoring, Protecting Coral Reefs".

The "2024 Underwater Unmanned Systems Challenge (Hong Kong-Macau Selection)" was the inaugural selection event organised by HKSPSF, commissioned by the national competition committee, in response to the call from the Chinese Institute of Electronics and Chinese Society of Oceanography.
