Invitation to Participate in the Hong Kong Regional Selection for "2025-2026學年全國青少年勞動技能與智能設計大賽" (AILD)

In support of the HKSAR's education policy on promoting STEAM education and whole-person development, our centre sincerely invites primary and secondary schools across Hong Kong to join the Hong Kong regional selection for "2025-2026學年全國青少年勞動技能與智能設計大賽" (AILD).

National Youth Labour Skills and Intelligent Design Competition

To principals and teachers in charge of primary and secondary schools:

In support of the HKSAR's education policy on promoting STEAM education and whole-person development, and to strengthen young people's innovative thinking, hands-on practical ability, and team collaboration while encouraging students to engage actively with the country's technological development, our centre sincerely invites your school to join the Hong Kong regional selection for "2025-2026學年全國青少年勞動技能與智能設計大賽" (AILD, hereafter referred to as "the Competition").

This Competition is officially listed by the General Office of the Ministry of Education as one of the nationwide competitions for primary and secondary school students for the 2025-2028 academic years (Jian Jianguan Ting Han [2025] No. 7, "white-list competition" item 29). By integrating labour skills with intelligent technology, the Competition aims to cultivate future innovative talent with national awareness, multidimensional thinking, and problem-solving ability. Details of the Hong Kong regional selection are as follows:

2. Eligibility

Enrolled students at primary and secondary schools across Hong Kong, including Primary 1 to Primary 6 and Secondary 1 to Secondary 6.

3. How to Participate

Contestants must register free of charge for the preliminary round through the official Competition website, aild.org.cn. After qualification review and screening, they will proceed to the semi-final selection, and outstanding teams will advance to the national final. Competition items and detailed rules are available under the "Competition Topics" section on the official website.

4. Schedule

The Competition consists of three stages: the preliminary round, the semi-final, and the national final. The tentative schedule is as follows:

(1) Preliminary Registration
From now until 12:00 noon on 5 June 2026, schools may register free of charge through the official Competition website, aild.org.cn. Each school may register up to 20 teams for each challenge item in each division. Each team should have one supervising teacher.

(2) Preliminary Round
To be held in June 2026. The round will be conducted online through a comprehensive quality assessment, with questions set and reviewed by experts organised by the national organising committee.

(3) Semi-final Round
To be held in July 2026. Offline challenge items will be assessed on site by experts arranged by the local undertaker, while online challenge items will be assessed by experts organised by the national organising committee.

(4) National Final
To be held in August 2026 (exact time and venue to be announced separately).

5. Assessment and Awards

(1) No awards or certificates will be issued for the preliminary round.

(2) The semi-final results will be ranked and awards will be given at Gold, Silver, and Bronze levels in a ratio of 2:3:4. A number of Outstanding Supervising Teacher awards, for teachers guiding students who win semi-final Gold awards, and Outstanding Organising Unit awards will also be granted. Semi-final certificates will be issued with the official seal of the national organising committee.

(3) The national final results will be ranked and awards will be given at Gold, Silver, and Bronze levels in a ratio of 2:3:5. Qualification for the national final will be determined by semi-final results and subject to official announcement. Outstanding Supervising Teacher awards, for teachers guiding students who win national final Gold awards, and Outstanding Organising Unit awards will also be granted.

(4) Certificate verification: raw scores for the preliminary round, semi-final, and national final will not be published. Please visit the "Certificates" section of the official website at aild.org.cn and enter the certificate number for verification.

(5) The national organising committee reserves the final right of interpretation for this Competition.

6. Other Matters

(1) The Competition follows the principles of public welfare and voluntary participation, and no registration fee will be charged. However, transportation, accommodation, insurance, and other expenses incurred during participation shall be borne by the participants.

(2) Schools should actively assist with qualification review for participating students and supervising teachers and provide support. By school, please send the "2025-2026 Academic Year AILD Labour Skills Competition School Summary Form" (Attachment 1, Excel format) to aild@hkspsf.org on or before 5 June 2026. Please use the email subject line: "Full School Name + Preliminary Registration".
