I. Background Introduction
The "National Youth Information Literacy Competition" is one of the competitions in the Ministry of Education's "List of National Competitions for Primary and Secondary School Students for the 2022-2025 Academic Year". The "Underwater Unmanned Systems Challenge" is an important part of the competition, jointly hosted by the Chinese Institute of Electronics and the Chinese Society of Oceanography. The "Underwater Unmanned Systems Challenge" aims to enhance young people's awareness of the ocean and national defense, further assist in the cultivation of innovative talents in unmanned systems, improve the scientific and technological literacy of young people across the country, and promote the popularization of frontier technologies in unmanned systems.
II. Challenge Mechanism
The competition is mainly centered on marine ecological protection, simulating the task of coral reef protection, setting up four major tasks: collecting coral fragments, recovering coral collection cabins, in-situ sensor placement, and sonar repeater testing. These tasks also combine marine ecological monitoring, underwater robot technology, and application, which are highly scientific and interesting. The theme of this competition is Smart Ocean, with underwater unmanned systems as the core. By building unmanned autonomous biomimetic vehicles and marine science technology equipment to simulate solving real-world problems in the global ocean and environment, it further helps cultivate young people's scientific and technological literacy.
