From August 16 to 20, the "2024 South China Book Festival & Yangcheng Book Fair" (hereinafter referred to as "South China Book Festival"), hosted by the Propaganda Department of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee, will be held at the main venue in Guangzhou (Area B of the China Import and Export Fair Complex). A total of 7 types of key branch venues will be set up across the province, including 500 physical bookstore and library (cultural center) branch venues, Xinhua "Happy Reading Space" branch venues, rural branch venues, Kashgar and Macau branch venues outside the province, high-speed railway station and Guangzhou Metro transportation hub branch venues, Liwan Great Health Book branch venues, and Guangdong Women's Prison branch venues.

This South China Book Festival will focus on the annual theme activity of "Celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China", the 2024 "Scholarly Lingnan (Greater Bay Area)" National Reading Forum, the 2024 Digital Publishing Innovation and Development Forum, the "Good Book Recommendation List", the launching ceremony of the Top Ten Works of the 6th "National Reading · Bookstore Choice", the "Happy Reading Millions" series of activities, youth graded reading activities, the "Book Public Welfare Action" series of activities, the "Scholarly Night" activity, the hand-copied newspaper creation competition, and the reading promoter selection and award activity, etc., comprehensively displaying publishing integration and innovation from the perspective of new quality productive forces.
