The China Science Fiction Convention (CSFC), initiated by the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), has been successfully held for seven sessions since 2016. Since 2020, CAST and the Beijing Municipal People's Government have joined hands to hold it in Shijingshan District, Beijing for three consecutive years. In 2022, the CSFC was included in the "Zhongguancun Forum" for the first time, becoming a parallel forum of the national-level technology forum, fully embodying the important role of science fiction in promoting technological innovation. The "Science Fiction Planet Award", of which the Hong Kong Science Popularization and Science Fiction Academy (HKSPSF) is one of the grand prize co-organizers, serves as an important part of the CSFC. It provides a platform for display and exchange for the domestic and foreign sci-fi industries, playing multiple roles in promoting technological innovation, facilitating industrial exchanges, and enhancing industrial influence.
Review of the First Session
In 2022, the Science Fiction Planet Award held its selection activity for the first time, taking the lead in launching the review of the Technology Award. 216 projects from 27 domestic provinces and cities and 9 countries successfully applied for the award.
At the opening ceremony of the 2023 CSFC and the concurrent Science Fiction Planet Award ceremony, Wan Gang, Chairman of CAST, presented trophies to the champions of the three tracks: Best Sci-Fi Creation Technology Award, Best Sci-Fi Experience Technology Award, and Best Sci-Fi Product Innovation Award. Meng Qinghai, Vice Chairman and Secretary of the Secretariat of CAST, Yu Yingjie, Vice Mayor of Beijing, Mei Hong, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and other leaders and experts presented medals to 42 enterprises that won the Excellence Award and Nomination Award.
Call for Entries Theme
The 2nd Science Fiction Planet Award focuses on encouraging "Future Experience". The Technology Award, Literature Award, and Works Award will launch project solicitation under the themes of "Science and Technology Promoting Perception Expansion", "Depicting New and Strange Life Experiences", and "New Perspectives and New Thinking on Future Life Scene Experiences" respectively.
Scope of Declaration
We welcome enterprises, scientific research institutions, universities, teams, and individuals from the global sci-fi field to participate in the declaration. The scope of solicitation includes technological innovation, literary works, film and television works, as well as individuals and groups with outstanding contributions.
Award Setting
The 2nd Science Fiction Planet Award will conduct selections for the Sci-Fi Technology Award, Sci-Fi Literature Award, Sci-Fi Works Award, and Outstanding Contribution Award.
Science Fiction Planet Award · Technology Award
Core positioning: "Science and Technology Promoting Perception Expansion". It focuses on technologies supporting the enhancement of different perceptual dimensions such as human vision, hearing, smell, touch, and taste, including human-computer interaction, rendering computing, network communication, artificial intelligence, and unmanned coordination. It explores sci-fi technological innovation and scenario application implementation to accelerate the industrial application of technology.

Science Fiction Planet Award · Literature Award
This award aims to pay attention to excellent Chinese sci-fi novels originally published worldwide for the first time. Centered on reader experience, it encourages works to depict new and strange life experiences while clarifying the origin of the experience and revealing the scientific or sociological principles behind the story. It is used to reward sci-fi literature writers and pave the way for the prosperity of sci-fi creation.

1 Winner each for Best Sci-Fi Novel, Best Sci-Fi Novella, and Best Sci-Fi Short Story; 9 Excellence Awards and 33 Nomination Awards.
Science Fiction Planet Award · Works Award
This award aims to stimulate the enthusiasm of sci-fi creators, improve the quality of sci-fi film and television works, and guide the active and healthy development of the sci-fi industry. It reviews and commends excellent sci-fi film and television works from different dimensions such as the new perspective and new thinking of sci-fi works on future life scene experiences. It promotes the sci-fi film and television market to pay more attention to scientific experience, encourages diversified, personalized, and high-quality development, improves the domestic and international influence of sci-fi film and television, and promotes the wide dissemination of China's sci-fi culture.

Science Fiction Planet Award · Technology Award
(1) There are two ways to solicit projects: one is nomination and election by the Nomination Committee, and the other is declaration by legal entities.
(2) The participants are legal entities owning the intellectual property rights of the product, project, or technology. The participating products, projects, technologies, and related patent property rights must be clear, with no intellectual property disputes, and each participating entity can only declare one sub-award.
(3) Projects that have won national science and technology awards will not participate.
(4) Overseas participating projects should submit Chinese version materials.
This award takes innovation, internationality, practicality, demonstration, and experience as the overall participation conditions. Among them, the Best Sci-Fi Creation Technology Award focuses on innovation and internationality; the Best Sci-Fi Experience Technology Award focuses on experience; the Best Sci-Fi Product Innovation Award focuses on practicality and demonstration.
Science Fiction Planet Award · Literature Award
(1) There are two ways to solicit works: one is nomination and election by the Nomination Committee, and the other is declaration by individuals.
(2) Excellent Chinese sci-fi novels originally published worldwide for the first time between October 1, 2021, and September 30, 2023, including books and periodicals.
(3) Books must have an ISBN, and the word count is based on the copyright page. Chinese periodicals must have an ISSN, and the word count is based on the published content (including punctuation).
(4) All entry materials submitted for all participating projects should include a Chinese version.
(5) Participating works need to hold faith in the progress of technology and the times, and uphold a positive attitude towards the future.
This award follows the principles of "openness, fairness, and justice" and reviews participating projects from five dimensions: scientific nature, literary nature, imagination, guidance, and influence.

(1) The solicitation method does not accept public declaration, limited to election by the Nomination Committee.
(2) Sci-fi films, sci-fi series, and other sci-fi film and television works licensed between October 1, 2021, and September 30, 2023.
(3) Sci-fi film and television works with licenses such as public screening license, TV series distribution license, imported overseas film and television license, and online drama distribution license in China.
This award takes sci-fi innovation, values, application of sci-fi elements, plot, characters and artistic performance, and application of scientific theory as the overall participation conditions.
Science Fiction Planet Award · Outstanding Contribution Award
(1) The solicitation method does not accept public declaration, limited to election by the Selection Committee.
(2) Personnel who have made outstanding contributions to the dissemination of Chinese sci-fi culture in various periods of the history of China's sci-fi development, mainly those with outstanding contributions in the past year. When there are no outstanding contributors in the past year, it is appropriate to trace back to other years.
(3) Individuals or groups who have made major breakthroughs in sci-fi community construction and sci-fi education talent training and made outstanding contributions to the sci-fi cause.
