The 2nd Hong Kong Science Fair, organized by the Hong Kong Innovation Foundation, will be held on June 17-18 at the Exhibition Hall of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. 120 shortlisted teams of teachers and students from local primary and secondary schools will showcase their creative research results. Dr. David Yeung, Director of Innovation of the Hong Kong Innovation Foundation, pointed out that compared with the previous Science Fair, schools are more enthusiastic about signing up, including more international schools. In addition, the research proposed by students is more comprehensive, including promotion, marketing, and fundraising, emphasizing that STEAM Education needs support from all sectors to cultivate students into innovation and technology talents.
Schools are Enthusiastic, Including International Schools; Research of Teams this Year is More Comprehensive
As the Hong Kong Science Fair enters its second year, Dr. David Yeung, Director of Innovation of the Hong Kong Innovation Foundation, pointed out that students already had the opportunity to communicate with the public and deal with sharp questions in the previous Science Fair, "This is a kind of learning experience." He believes that schools have noticed that the Science Fair helps students develop, so schools are more enthusiastic about signing up for this year's Science Fair, including many international schools.
One of the characteristics of the Science Fair is that no theme is set, facilitating students to unleash their creativity and come up with unconstrained ideas. Dr. Yeung also mentioned that the research of the participating teams this time is more comprehensive. The previous one focused on solving problems, but this time it includes marketing and fundraising, which surprised him. Regarding the successful holding of the Science Fair for the second time, Dr. Yeung also thanked the education sector for their participation and social groups for their support in providing relevant resources.

SAR Government Invests More Resources in STEAM; Believes Hong Kong Can Gather Innovation and Technology Talents
Noting that students will face different challenges in innovation and technology, Dr. Yeung stated that government policies have changed, investing more resources in STEAM Education. With the assistance of all sectors, the whole society is progressing step by step. Even teachers are enthusiastically participating in similar activities to encourage and train students in innovation and technology. When Dr. Yeung went to Geneva in the past, locals praised "Hong Kong is very powerful" when seeing Hong Kong scientific research teams. He is convinced that Hong Kong can gather local and international innovation and technology talents.
