Program Overview
The Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) is the highest academic institution in science and technology of the People's Republic of China and a comprehensive research and development center for natural sciences and high-tech in the country. In order to allow Hong Kong students to step out of the campus threshold in advance, cultivate work skills, accumulate work experience, broaden their horizons, and further promote local youth's understanding of scientific research, the Hong Kong Volunteers Association will organize a 6-week "Chinese Academy of Sciences Youth Internship Program 2023". Recruitment of interns starts immediately, allowing young people to go to the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing for internships.
This activity is funded by the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau and fully supported by the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing. The activity is also one of the projects of the "Thematic Youth Internship Programmes to the Mainland", providing 20 internship positions at the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing for local students from tertiary institutions to participate in a 6-week internship. Students participating in the internship program will be assigned to different institutes of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, such as the Institute of Automation, the Institute of Software, the Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, the Institute of Physics, the Computer Network Information Center, and the Institute of Acoustics, according to their academic background, to gain valuable experience. The opportunity is very rare.
