On May 6, the first performance of the "National Style and Rhythm Fragrant Hong Kong" series, the "China National Opera House Concert of Selected Chinese and Foreign Classic Operas", was held at the Hong Kong City Hall Concert Hall. John Lee, Chief Executive of the HKSAR, and Zheng Yanxiong, Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the HKSAR, attended and delivered speeches.

Zheng Yanxiong stated that with the support of relevant central departments and the SAR government, the "National Style and Rhythm Fragrant Hong Kong" series of performances invited excellent central and local art troupes, artists, and repertoires to perform in Hong Kong. Showcasing the latest achievements of China's stage art and the unique charm of excellent traditional Chinese culture in Hong Kong, the "Window of the World", fully reflects the Central Government's care and love for Hong Kong, as well as its expectation and support for Hong Kong's construction as a center for cultural and artistic exchanges between China and foreign countries, adding strong positive energy to Hong Kong as it moves from chaos to governance and prosperity.
Zheng Yanxiong emphasized that Hong Kong culture is wonderful because of its diversity. It inherits Chinese culture and absorbs Western culture, forming a large number of cultural brands with Hong Kong characteristics in historical accumulation. Chinese culture has always been the "root" and "soul" of Hong Kong, and the deepest spiritual foundation of Hong Kong. It is believed that Hong Kong's cultural undertakings will surely draw abundant nutrition from the magnificent epic of national development and the enduring inheritance and development of Chinese culture, and bloom with brilliance. Hong Kong also possesses advantages such as developed information and extensive international connections. It has the full ability and conditions to build a big stage for disseminating excellent Chinese culture, telling contemporary Chinese stories and Hong Kong stories in historical changes well in international exchanges. As an international metropolis, Hong Kong has a unique status and advantages that no other city in the world has in exchanges between Chinese and Western cultures and mutual learning between civilizations. It has the conditions and ability to build a great platform for the integrated development of Chinese and Western cultures, and play a unique role in promoting harmonious world development and building a community with a shared future for mankind.
